About
Learning. Leadership. Longevity.
Since childhood, Shomari Newlin Slade has had a natural instinct for structure, systems, and strategy. What began with reorganizing morning and after-school routines quickly revealed a deeper gift for improving processes and elevating the way people work, think, and move through the world. That early impulse toward optimization—sometimes even getting him in trouble for “fixing” what wasn’t broken—became the foundation of his leadership, design thinking, and problem-solving approach today.
A proud North Carolina native, Shomari built his academic journey at the intersection of history, public service, and equity. He earned his B.A. in History, cum laude, from North Carolina A&T State University, where his love for systems expanded into studying movements, governance, and the lived experiences of marginalized communities. Through historical research, he learned how narratives shape power—and how understanding the past informs the policies and systems we build today.
This passion led him to earn a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, where he received the Tyrone Baines Leadership Award in recognition of his impact as an emerging leader in government and civic strategy. His commitment to service deepened during his tenure as a Legislative Assistant in the North Carolina Senate, where he contributed to policy development, communications, and constituent engagement. His work supported the successful allocation of more than $300 million in the state budget for Forsyth County—funding for education, healthcare, veteran support, addiction recovery, food security, and community development.
Shomari continued refining his policy and advocacy skill set as a government relations intern with Lifespan, Inc., where he led policy development and curriculum design that strengthened the organization’s advocacy infrastructure. His work directly supported the acquisition of a $200,000 government grant, reflecting his ability to blend strategic thinking with practical, results-driven execution.
Today, Shomari’s journey has expanded into a multidisciplinary practice rooted in learning design, leadership development, organizational sustainability, and public-sector strategy. Shomari focuses on how people and organizations learn, change, and build systems that last. His work spans education, government, business, and nonprofit spaces—designing learning experiences, guiding leaders, shaping strategy, and strengthening programs through evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.
He is a faith leader, husband, and visionary—leading alongside his wife Ahni with integrity and purpose. Together, they model a life grounded in service, influence, and Kingdom impact.
Across every role, project, and community, Shomari lives out the mission that defines his work and life:
