PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

EDUCATION

My academic foundation reflects a deep commitment to historical inquiry, public leadership, and institutional innovation. I earned:

  • A Bachelor of Arts in History, Cum Laude from North Carolina A&T State University, where I focused on historical systems, social movements, and the lived experiences of marginalized communities.

  • A Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, where I was honored with the Tyrone Baines Leadership Award for excellence in public leadership and civic engagement.

At North Carolina A&T, I also served as Student Office Manager for Aggie Tech Support, where I:

  • Managed a team of up to 60 staff responsible for university-wide tech support.

  • Introduced mobile help desks and implemented tech upgrades across campus to address gaps caused by underfunding at HBCUs.

  • Streamlined computing operations for academic and administrative offices, managing payroll, inventory, and system coordination.

This experience deepened my interest in designing solutions that are efficient, inclusive, and sustainable.

 GOVERNMENT

My government experience is defined by legislative advocacy, budget strategy, and stakeholder engagement. I served as Legislative Assistant and Chief of Staff to Senator Paul A. Lowe Jr., where I:

  • Helped secure $300 million in state funding for Winston-Salem, supporting education, workforce development, infrastructure, and public health initiatives.

  • Acted as a liaison between the Senator, constituents, and legislative offices—drafting bills, managing communications, and coordinating town halls and public events.

  • Supervised undergraduate interns and oversaw the Senator’s calendar, travel, and public communications.

At the U.S. Department of Commerce, I served as a Trade Intern, where I:

  • Managed high-level policy documents and facilitated communication between international field offices and federal leadership.

  • Gained insight into trade policy, budgeting, and federal appropriations through real-world interagency processes.

 NONPROFIT

In the nonprofit sector, I focus on policy strategy, capacity-building, and funding innovation. As a Government Relations Intern with Lifespan Inc., I:

  • Developed and implemented a government relations training curriculum, strengthening the organization’s advocacy infrastructure.

  • Played a key role in securing a $200,000 grant, aligning public policy initiatives with community-based strategies.

  • Produced policy briefs, led workshops, and created internal strategy tools to position the organization for long-term impact.

My work in this sector demonstrates a passion for aligning vision with execution—empowering organizations to grow while remaining mission-focused.

BUSINESS

As a Community Association Manager at Associa Inc., I brought structure, clarity, and trust to residential community operations. I:

  • Served as the primary liaison between the Boards of Directors, homeowners, and vendors, ensuring effective communication and accountability.

  • Managed financial planning, budgets, vendor procurement, building inspections, and collections processes.

  • Maintained accurate data through C3 software systems and ensured compliance with all governance agreements.

My business experience sharpened my skills in operations, relationship management, and service-based leadership.

Whether crafting press releases on historic legislation, designing newsletters that put power back in the hands of constituents, or coordinating events that bring the community face-to-face with decision-makers, I do it all with one goal: to make leadership real, reachable, and responsible.
